doesn't really make much sense considering the situation between the royal sisters and step-sisters are completely different
on that note, i think the reason this change is bugging me is because there hasn't been any real evidence that Twilight was heading in this direction in any episode, and now in a single episode she will become one and they've made it sound like she wants to out of nowhere. perhaps she didn't know it was possible until this episode? perhaps it'll happen out of random?
regardless, they're trying to sum up this change within 22 minutes. i'll be shocked if it doesn't feel rushed. if they had a choice in the matter, they should have waited for a two-part episode. it could probably be explained better, make the change a bit more comfortable.
obviously this is just based on assumption and i'm not remembering all the facts and could be wrong by the time the episode is over, but still that is something i've had on my mind for a day or so now
Basically this. Either way though, they seriously should have had 44 minutes to explain why one of the 6 main characters is suddenly getting turned into a "pretty pony princess".

I'm a bit less than thrilled with the postal service's handling of the letter though. There's a bunch of puncture holes on the card centered where the pin was, indicating excessive pressure was applied to it (fortunately it didn't actually overlap the drawing, it just overlapped the text on the second half of the second and third lines).
