So, I'm going to predict that one of two things will happen:

Either this episode will be awful and drive away half of the fandom, or it will be great and even though not all approve of the twilicorn thing everyone will still like it. One would assume that since this show has amazing writers, they'll be able to make it work. At least, I hope. I've enjoyed this show from beginning up until now, and I don't want to see is get ruined already. Hasbro is already doing enough of that.
