Who even uses Java anymore? Only time I've ever actively used Java on a webpage was for the Power toy a few years back.

Flash is still pretty rampant on the Internet... I could live without, if I really care that much about Flash content I'll just load it on my laptop. Flash to me is almost always only for ads and games.
Oh, just the 10 million registered users of Minecraft.

Ha ha touche. Although most people should be using the executable version now... doubt iPad is the platform of choice for them anyhow.

Okay, fair enough I get the point. But I wouldn't call specific demographics of games mainstream. Its not used practically, again, just games. Crap ones at that.

some browser videos use flash too.

Theres an app for that. :P

Yeah, I was just calling it as I saw it.

I personally use the executable, and I barely go on the internet on my portable devices.

A large majority of them use flash.

Oh, just the 10 million registered users of Minecraft.
And all the people playing Spiral Knights, but I think it includes a java build in it's engine.

as far as tablets go i would not get something from apple, i like watching non youtube videos online.

I recall seeing that the Xoom doesn't support Hulu or Netflix through the browser. I could be wrong, but Hulu doesn't have an app with the Android app store either :|

I was actually reading a USAToday article two days ago about this. Based on HP's recent endeavors, I had expected the tablet to have done well in sales, as well as marketing. But with the iPad's superior OS and tablet design, the TouchPad has no chance whatsoever.

And Revenge of the Titans uses Java too.
And then there's also OOo (and it's derivatives) which uses Java in some places.

Why would you ever want a tablet anyways?

Apple's new patents.  Suck.

Why would you ever want a tablet anyways?
agreed, id rather have a laptop. (and probably for the angry birds.)

Actually, the first tablet was A loving WINDOWS TABLET. HOW COME NOBODY CARED ABOUT THAT?
