If anything, they need to be putting more tax dollars on education. Our education systems are incredibly low compared to other countries, which is sad. At an older school of mine, we were using algebra textbooks from the friggin' 1980's, along with other outdated books. While most of the information in that book is accurate, most of the ways that they let you "check your work" were done by writing a program in BASIC for your friggin' Commodore 64. Seriously. Not just that, but there's stuff in the book that isn't accurate and was changed over the past 30 years.
I think the two things that the government should be spending much more money on is education and infrastructure. America's roads are so outdated, and a vast number of its bridges are crumbling and at or past their originally projected service life. I'm surprised that we haven't seen more events like the I-35W bridge collapse in Minnesota back in 2007 more recently.

Also, as far as schools go, I'm torn. Absolutely we should bring public schools up to acceptable standards and invest in making America's public schools temples, basically, but no matter how much money you pour into the system, you cannot teach kids to be free thinkers and there is no amount of money spent that will guarantee that every kid cares about getting and values their education and there are no monetary incentives that will make every teacher be gifted and passionate about their profession.

These are incredibly well thought out points, Sirrus.
Thanks sir.

The plus side in this economy of having a 2 income household is that, especially if both of the parents jobs are somewhat low paying, it keeps them out of debt, but they are shooting for the stars at things next to impossible to get. My family for example, if my dad lost his job, we woudn't be able to buy food for a while and would have to live off my mom's income. If my dad kept his job and my mom lost her job, we'd be next to forgeted. We would lose our house because we couldn't sustain rent pay AND buy food.

IMO U.S. is becoming corrupt and getting close to communist (to an extent)

You guys fail to realize that education isn't actually there to teach the curriculum, rather to break your will an accept the pointless rules the government has laid before us

I'm sorry, what rules?

all economies support keeping the rich richer and the poor poorer.

"Why should I go to school? Why would I want a job? Why would I need money? Why would I need cool things? Why would I need friends? Why would I need fun? Why would I need to be entertained? Why would I need to live?"

I'm sorry, what rules?
Not questioning authority, not acting abnormal. We are all being molded to enjoy our pointless lives

That has nothing to do with what I said

Oh right, didn't think of it that way.

I have to do this one day.

Fox News and McDonald's are two destroyers of America.

Being stupid is realizing that we are constantly being oppressed?

We're not oppressed, if anything the people are loving the government over pretty hardcore and then complaining that the government isn't gyrating its hips enough.
