for starters, i've worked with flash on the lt computers and i intend to make good use of it in the future anyway

The price is justified considering it's industry standard. Free programs won't fit into the artwork pipeline like photoshop will.

Considering all the work I intend to do with Yndaaa on the game for my books, it'll definitely be handy.
Not only will it be easier to make and send him character designs, but I can also start on good portraits for characters in dialog. I intend to set up a GUI in Torque like the ones used in the interactive Homestuck games for dialog, that will probably be tested within Blockland.
