replace "pony" with anything else (example: transformers, anime-name-here, etc.) and you might figure out why.

The show is girly. Everyone already knows the show is girly. Chick-flicks are girly, romantic, and etc., many watch them as well. The small fact that the show is girly, made for little girls/etc., means nothing.
Drama doesn't appear until someone starts nagging about it to a certain degree.
