Author Topic: NYC map glitch  (Read 1769 times)

Since this is my topic, and I don't want to make a new one, is it even remotely possible to make vehicles have sound? Because I hate driving cars and all I hear is silence, especially when it's 2:00 a.m (real time) and there is no tv because of a storm, and the lights are flickering, and my phone/ipod is almost dead. Creeps me the hell out.

I think the floor there was not interior but a waterblock. A waterblock would be better to be used for the ocean floor for two reasons:
1. Better collision than interiors
2. It stretches on forever in the map

I drew that conclusion when I saw him bouncing up and down off the ocean floor. I haven't looked for myself though.

Is it possible to have two terrains in one map? Do not believe so.
It's a slate floor with flat water to make it look like it has a texture. Every slate edit that has a floor that isn't invisible does this.

I already knew this... hence why I stated that it was a waterblock.

Although I do still wonder if you can smash in two .TER files and edit the mission file to allow for two terrains. Doubt Torque would allow it, though. Do you know?

It wouldn't. The editor only supports one terrain so I imagine the game would also only allow one.

That saddens me. Having two terrains would have made for an interesting map - although it probably would have become terribly laggy.

Have you ever found the secret cave with the treasure hunt list in the cave below the surface of the water? I can't find it anymore.

It wouldn't lag, but you wouldn't be able to build on the lower terrain.

I wish we could lower the square size and increase the number of vertices. Sure it'd make a huge .ter file, but we could make some real nice terrains, big too instead of relying on loops.

Yes... the square size is too big to allow for any true detail. Although it would be nice if the maps could get larger without relying on square size - and if a square size over default wouldn't break water. It's annoying when you can't make an island map with far spaced islands.

If you explore the area well enough, there is a Blue Hell city down there, just explore it more, no joke.

Wait, You can't move the square? I thought I was just not smart enough to realize that I could.

No, I was talking about the square size, meaning the size of each square of the terrain.
