Author Topic: Redirect Virus, halp.  (Read 945 times)

I did a full scan of malwarebytes, and deleted all the viruses, but it still redirects.  I changed browsers, and it still redirects.  I tried TDSS fixer by Kaspersky, it found something, deleted it, I reboot, but it still redirects.

What do.

Edit: It only redirects google.

How does it redirect? Like, when you click a result on Google? If so, this should help. I have it bookmarked just in case.

Only google, updating OP.

Then you should check out the link I gave you.

I had a virus like this.
Check your IE/Firefox proxy settings, viruses usually give you proxy servers to redirect you.

I got this, it somehow fixed itself after a while.
I just ignored it, right clicked the result and clicked 'open in new window'.

umad virus?

I hate it when people say this.

If you read the OP, you would know that it only affects Google searches.

What is it redirecting to?
Searchports.com, and some other generic fake search sites.

Oh, and I got this fixed now.  I just edited the hosts file.

I have this exact problem.

That wasn't really clear in the OP.

I misread it too, thinking everything was redirected to Google. ;-;
