Why does anybody find them entertaining?

:D I completely agree with you sure playing is fun, but watching? NO

The adrenaline-pumping action can satisfy people's unusual needs. Plus you get a lot of money.

They sure are not fun for me to watch by any means, even if it's like the World cup or superbowl.

Only playing for yourself is fun

1. some sports are fun to play for some people - just like people asking why shooting people in a game is fun
2. "exercise high" - they get "high" on the exercise they get from the sport. it's a weird feeling that is sort of like an adrenaline rush, i had it a few times before.

ninja: forget, watching?
edit: they like to take pride in the fact that they live in a town that has a winning team and that "they" are breeding good sports teams even though they have nothing to do with it. i find some sports fun to watch.

I play Soccer but I do ask this question myself.
I personally can't stand watching sports but enjoy playing a select few.

For me, it's outdoors. It's movement. A team with similar goals. Bleeding & determination.

I guess anyway.

Sorry about the edit

I think it's fun to watch people box so I don't get my own teeth knocked out.

I only watch the Olympics and world cup and stuff just to see my favorite countries do better.

Oh i change what I said, the only sport I like watching is stuff like UFC and anything that involves fighting.

That's cool

Yah watching it is boring as hell.

Because its fun to follow a sports team and you get adrenaline from watching them and the rush on certain games is awesome
Like imagine if you went to a game like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_Gd7TDkY8w&feature=related
The announcer yelling the crowd going bananas and the players celebrating on the court. That give me goosebumps everytime I see it :P

My dad said that sports were "cool" and that I should imagine myself doing what they do. I told him that was both douchey and depressing. Why would I like to imagine doing something pointless

I guess it's because I lack empathy

Damn I'd never hang around someone like you. Its not pointless lol. It build strength, endurance, and even social skills. You're too boring.

That's not what pro-athletes do. They become unnaturally muscular and do pointless stuff.
And how am I boring? I find it more interesting to play with stuff I found on the side of the street than play a sport
