I suspect it won't be a real problem until the "bronies" start spreading a lot pony stuff in topics other than the MLP: FiM thread. While it's apparent that people do so, it seems not that problematic to me as of now. If people on an online forum become interested in a show for ten-year-old girls(God knows how) it's a responsible thing to do to create a topic dedicated to it, rather than smearing love and friendship all over the forum. Though many others have been made, only two have ever gone anywhere. And as for avatars, I don't see what the big deal is. I agree with you on the obese guy example, but that's simply an example and I doubt anyone on this forum with an avatar like that would last very long here. I have no problem with staring at mildly anthropomorphic cartoon pony faces on this forum. They're all just avatars to me. My only problem is when replying to them on the "What is the User Above You Avatar Saying" thread.

I can understand that, and you do have a right to not be unwillingly subjected to its content, but I haven't seen any pony pictures in a non-pony related topic in a long time.
