Author Topic: Alright "bronies", listen up. (Day 2)  (Read 201085 times)

page 50 is not part of the cover
if it takes that long to get the plot going then something is wrong.
you know what I mean
or at least you should
he only skimmed the very beginning before assuming everything was stuff

really?
what about the point where I said that the plot is stuff in the beginning and it doesnt get good till after that?
you only read to page 50 where there is still no plot
good job judging a book by its cover
NO SHUT UP
Reaction images are stupid in general when overused, whether it be Homestuck, My Little Pony, or meme ones. However, we shouldn't get mad about a couple of reaction images, especially when they original/relevant/funny.

There, argument over.
ARGUEMENT OVER

lets fight about mlp some more

i like it for the plot

there someone flame me so we can move from homestuck

I think mlp needs more cowbell

If he gets to page 50 then he's been far enough to formulate his own opinion. Saying "it gets better later" is meaningless.

There isn't much of a fight for MLP anymore.  Most of the opposition for both sides are either not holding the same feelings anymore or they aren't active as much.

A good story usually has a good hook

Glad to see I'm not the only one who knows the definition of a good book :|

A good story usually has a good hook
but you see the beginning isn't suppose to hook you
it's just the creator showing off the things he could do with this comic compared to the other ones he's made

Does he make that obvious? Or does he leave new readers in the dark?

Double post by accident

guys did you know in mlp fim, every episode has a grey horse called derpy hoovAW FORGET IT.

Does he make that obvious?
not unless you've read his other comics
and most people don't know this but should start to understand it as they continue reading

1) MSPA stories exist in the format of "mock games", specifically text-based adventure games. You advance through the pages of the story by clicking links which sound like commands you would type in a text prompt to get a character to do something. Generally, the character will respond to that command on the following page.

2) MSPA stories are largely "reader-driven", in the sense that most of the text commands were supplied by readers through a suggestion box. I would select a command from the list, and then illustrate the result of the command.

Then he's writing something stupid likely.  Writing anything literary using that method is just asking for people to make fun of it or look down upon it for being so terribly designed and thought out.

Imagine how the Harry Potter series would have turned out if JK Rowling just showed off the things she could do with the series' fame before she even wrote the first book, and compared it to any other work she wrote that got near nothing of the attention that Harry Potter did.

Then it's not even a story to begin with, it's just a stuffty "tell me what to draw next" RPG.
