Author Topic: Port Forwarding (I READ THE TUTORIAL)  (Read 1160 times)

I know you guys are gonna ask me all about my router and stuff or tell me to reread the tutorial but this is serious. I tried doing the tutorial but it didn't use the same computer as me. They said they used LinkSys but somehow i'm using Speed Stream. And i looked over the internet but they didn't have a tutorial of how to port forward with Speed Stream. So is there anyway to port forward with speed stream?

router =/= computer

The only thing unique between all the different tutorials is where you where in your router control panel to find port forwarding setup. Just look around in your router control panel yourself and find it.

No edit, fixed.

If you can't figure that out. Try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m0w3PMyJ0E I know its a diffrent game but if you apply blocklands ports you shouldn't have any problems.

Your posts are still just as unhelpful as they were when you made your account.
If you actually read what he said, you would have noticed that he was confused because the tutorial didn't list his router.

Again man I try to be helpful, I helped 3 people so far and Im trying to make it 5

With 9 pages of posts, almost all in the help section, only 3 helpful posts is terribly low.

Somehow I don't know what number I should be looking for. It says Speed Stream 4200. And on the list I don't see a Speed Stream 4200. It has all the speed streams except 4200. Sorry I'm taking a vacation for the summer and the computer I'm using is crappy. I can port forward fine at home.

Read what I said

The only thing unique between all the different tutorials is where you where in your router control panel to find port forwarding setup (and some minor differences in how the information for port forwarding is entered). Just look around in your router control panel yourself and find it.
Unless your router manufacture is seriously handicapped, one of their goals should be to make their products user-friendly. Searching around the control panel for the page for port forwarding is not hard at all and shouldn't take more than a minute.
Additionally, if it's only a slightly different model number, there's a good chance that the control panels are roughly the same. Just choose one of the existing tutorials and see if the control panel is the same. If they're not, just look for the port forwarding page yourself (again, it's easy, don't be intimidated and just look around). Once you find it, if the entry form for port forwarding is also different, and you can't figure it out, just screenshot it and I or someone else will tell you what to put in.

Again, a router and a computer are two completely different things.

all router types port forward the same.

the only difference comes from how your isp handles your ip or;
what your ip4 happens to be at your current home setup

Hes right.

Course it didn't list his router. But like Bisjac all routers pretty much port forward the same.

OK I FOUND IT. I WAS SEARCHING FOR SPEED STREAM BUT IT IS ACTUALLY SIEMENS. BUT WHAT NOW. I DON'T SEE A APPLICATION LIST FOR BLOCKLAND. HELP ME.

Edit: make sure you use Tcp and Udp on both.
