Author Topic: RTB forced download count  (Read 933 times)

I'm not sure if this was a big deal or not but anyone can easily force their add on's download count. All you have to do is select download, cancel download, (refresh), repeat. I've done this on the official RTB website, not the ingame browser. If you had a mouse click macro your add-on would make the top 10 list in no time. It's not really much of an issue but I think it needs some attention for a fix.

I agree, I think it will be fixed by RTB 4 though, because I highly doubt at this stage that we would get a RTB 3.6, if that's what you mean.

I'm pretty sure a change like this wouldn't require an entire update.

I think it can be done ingame as well.

that's fan-loving-tastic now that you've told everyone.

I didn't work for me

Thought so.

When I click download, it just downloads... there is no prompt. I dunno what Lord Tony is at.

on the mod manager, download it, click transfers, cancel it, and do it again.
edit: nvm he said he did it on website.

Exactly what I thought until I read his edit as well and saw he said it was the website... :/

ITS A LIE

It sounds paranoid and self-important to say, but sometimes I wonder if people post things like this just to see if TBB will pick up on it. I already had a fake tip off sent to me earlier, and it wouldn't be the first time someone tried to fabricate a story.

I have something that checks for this type of statistics gaming occasionally, If I catch people I'm just going to ban them from everything I can. It's a waste of my bandwidth and my time when you do this. I haven't had the time to work out something effective to prevent this yet, and it's not even high on my priorities.

But I somewhat doubt that lord tony is trying to support TBB.

I was just pointing something out. I didn't think anyone even knew about it.

Well that works, I didn't think it would be much of an issue.
