I broke up a hot dog bun into an old Chinese food container with water and soup. When a left, a fly was on the edge of it.

Honey works better

Use one of those cheap stick-strips that you can just hang anywhere and flies will try to get them.

-put a slice of lemon on the table
-put Clorox bleach on the table
-^ but this time put a piece of food on it

We got that, but those only cover the area they are in and as such takes forever. We got one, but the rest are flying around it and going elsewhere. They land where they may.
