Unbuntu was made to be user friendly. My mom could probably install it on her own.

That is because there are hundreds of companies that make PC's and only one that makes Macs. Duh.

and even with their independent software they have bad numbers.. youd think since they were one of a kind theyd have better profits (but i guess people are just realizing that apple sucks, good for them :3 )

Linux flavors are stuff. Things like Ubuntu are crap without the Internet, they constantly bug up and fixing a Linux issue always requires the terminal. They pretend to be user friendly and easy but they aren't, the OS can't run anything decent either. Its total ass.

Why? Its faster than Windows and I can do almost everything I do on Windows on Ubuntu.

I use it from time to time, because when I use it I usually end up learning something,

at least on Gentoo.

With proper management, Linux could replace Windows, as it has some great ideas. However it's free, so it's barely worth complaining.

It still doesn't have enough of the market share to get software. You don't get the quality and quantity of software you could get for Windows and Mac. And when it comes to gaming you'll have to run everything with Wine, which still doesn't fully support everything yet.

things that the market heavily uses are where the development is done for, and the competition is at.
compatible programs, better hardware. cheaper everything.

its not always cool to be different. i dont need my main media device and way of life to be a fad.
mac and linux are way to unstable, they are still just "fad" right now.

im not buying snappy looking shoes. i need hardcore stuff for my computer use.
