Author Topic: Need help with comp  (Read 456 times)

Alright, so about a month ago, my computer got the blue screen of death. My dad ran many tests that failed, he ordered a new harddrive on Saturday and it came today. I reinstalled windows vista and everythings working fine except one thing: when I open up the Internet it says "Internet explorer can not display the webpage" yes, I know this is because I'm not connected to the internet. But when I diagnose it, it says "this computer does not have a network adapter installed" and then you can click install new hardware and verify that the correct drivers are loaded but when I click that it just goes to the troubleshoot driver problem thing. Also when I open up the thing where you connect to a network it just says "windows did not detect any networking hardware." any help :c

Make sure your computer is plugged in.

i would manually redownload drivers. dont let windows vista/7 find em for you.
whatever you have is clearly broken or wrong. dont know why it had worked and not now.

I don't think this could be revenant to this at all, but maybe because I'm using the wrong power adapter? (I couldnt find the old one that came with my Dell XPS)

Why does everyone keep doing that when I say something helpful?

Answer my question about the power adapter :c

That should not combat anything with this vital issue.

If your computer is a prebuilt, there's more than likely set drivers for your computer that reformatting will break. You should be able to find them by googling your computer model next to say, "network drivers" or just "drivers" as there is possibly other drivers you need too.
