Author Topic: I have the greatest luck ever.  (Read 1108 times)

I've been nagged by my dad and his girlfriend to find a job since the beginning of the year, which I'd be more than happy to do, only it turns out that finding a formal job in this town for a 15 year old is harder than it seems. I've also been looking for a car but that hasn't been fun either. So, things that suck at the moment:

1) Three people I know have been hired at the grocery store since I applied. I called the store numerous times to no avail. I wouldn't have minded working there at all, but I guess being 15 and having no experience isn't very desirable.

2) I found a decent Lincoln Town car within a short distance for $995 - we drove to go see it one weekend to look at it and maybe test drive it, but it was closed. The car was still okay, we planned on going back the next weekend after we'd call the owner and say we'd like to see it, but come Tuesday, it was gone.

3) The state government shuts down, meaning even though I had a road test for my license scheduled August 18th, I won't be able to get it until maybe September now that we're 12 days into it and the state hasn't shown any loving sign of coming up with a funding plan to open this stuff back up. This is just annoying as hell, loving idiots running this state. So everyone who had scheduled their test from the 1st to now to whenever the state decides to stop being handicapped has their test pushed back - including me, which sucks not only can I not drive anywhere, but...

4) I called the pizza place today. He said he's planning to hire maybe three drivers soon and to call back at the end of the week. I've wanted to be a driver for a while, but I guess I won't get to.

5) I found a realllllyyyy nice Buick Century for sale for $999 at the Chevy dealer just down the road online - we drove through last night to check it out and it wasn't there. I called today to ask about it and it was gone.

I can't think of anything to say except :(.

at least your mom isnt a bitch.

That sucks for you,

at least you still live better the alot of other people.

Tree nurseries are good places to find a nice job.
That is if you don't mind Spiders.

Try to find one that is hiring.

I don't live with her either.

Yes, but it's the fact that I'm having fair opportunities turned into losing battles (or nonexistant ones, even).

Well if you ever get the chance, take it.

They're almost always hiring. At least the one a few kilometers away is.
All you do is pack trees for shipment to places, and you get like, $2.00 per tree. And you can probably pack 20 something trees in a couple hours.

I wouldn't mind it but there's nothing like that here.

I also forgot to add that I found a '96 Dodge Stratus for sale by owner, I went to look at it and that thing was in terrible shape, the interior was dirty with tears and stuff in the seats, there was rust all the way through the doors, the hood had a lot of damage, and there was significant hail damage throughout the whole thing. I know I'm not getting a great car for my first but jesus, something a little better would be nice. I guess for $850 obo you can't be too picky.
