Author Topic: I wanna make weapon pack too.  (Read 2633 times)

These need work. Advice:

Lower polys. Cylinders should be either hexagons or octagons.

Don't over extrude, things get spammy and convoluted that way.

ALWAYS use solid shading, NOT smooth shading (unless using smooth groups, but even I don't know what the forget those are or even how to do it).

There's like, five weapons.
But hell, that seems easy enough, why not?
Having them with ammoguns support would be a bit harder, but from what I've seen, It's not the hardest thing, compared to typing all that C++.

Detail =/= Quality.

I would not say that Bushi's are any better than Takato's, or vice versa, just because of their detail level.
Takato is a disgrace to modelling.

True, I just think Bushi's could have a little more detail. They all look to generic.
Generic is good for Blockland. Notice how the default player and weapons don't have a load of detail?

I didn't extrude anything.
I don't even know what that is.
Also, I don't know what the difference is beteween shadings, or how to switch.

True, but the lego minifig itself it's too detailed and that's sort of what our minifig is based off of. So detail is measured by accuracy for basing models off of something or amount for custom things.

If you don't know what extruding is then don't post a model topic. Study up on the terms. Practice. Practice. THEN create a weapon pack topic.

I've seen a button in blender for it.
When I use it, the faces/edges/points I have selected, I can kinda stretch out.
It seems useless.

get more practice and model better, because this has potential

and the xbow in your server is OP

... well, I'm glad you're smart enough not to release your first models.

It's not like anything terriable would happen if I happened to post the links.
But I'm working on different ones.

Not at all! Extruding can be your friend if you don't abuse it. If you select a face, hit E, then you've basically created more faces. You can also achieve squares within squares. Select a face, hit E, DON'T MOVE YOUR MOUSE, hit the mouse key, hit S, then just scale it down a little. Them you can extrude again to create a smaller extrusion from the original cube. :cookieMonster:

I reccomend not using those flat planes with your models.

I would reccamend google sketchup for your first models, I admit I have tried to model before.  But if I put some more practice into it I would be good.  But you should do fine and they are looking really nice... I guess

Never release your first models.
i dread remembering MY first models, they sucked. But after a lot of practice i got alot better.
just keep it up ;D
