Feep's Minecraft SANCTUM idea

Well, hopefully most of you have seen Sanctum, A decently old movie from this year as an Australian drama movie.

Well, I had a huge minecraft idea to do with this, as like a gamemode with Oxygen tanks(yes there is a mod for this), Grappling hooks and climbing ropes, and make it so you have a group of 6-8 players, with fully geared up, go into a huge hole, randomly generated, and they have to try and find a way out. The players will have pickaxes and shovels, but with not enough resources to dig up.

They will have to find another way out by going either North, West, East, or South.

The players will also have to eat food, or their health will lower, and they have a chance of breaking limbs from falling.

Mine rocks
Get rocks
Place rocks under your feet and make a tower upwards
Mine rocks around you
Place them under your feet again.

This wouldn't work as part of the game-mode wouldn't allow you to obtain blocks.

What do you guys think of my idea?

This is an IDEA about a movie and a game.

I didn't think it was suitable to clog up GAMES.

So i just went with a hunch and threw it here, didn't think it would hurt anyone.

nope, you cannot collect blocks as part of the gamemode.

Then if you can't collect blocks, then wouldn't it be easy to just dig diagonally and make stairs to the surface?

This is a great idea, considering the movie was beast.
If I still played Minecraft, I would help, but I don't, so I can't.

I guess there would need to be code in the map so that bedrock spawns above the players going down the hole, untill they get a certain distance from the starting hole.
