Author Topic: Blockland Android App? Would you buy it? Why or why not! (Also general info)  (Read 5389 times)

I'm not all too sure how that would work, actually. I'd probably have to contact Badspot to figure out how I would work this out with him.
I did send him a message asking if I was allowed to charge users for this application but I never got a reply. Oh well.
How much will (would) this cost?

Also, I would probably suggest releasing this freely (maybe with ads) first to see if it's worth the bother of making a paid version.

Yeah I plan on doing that. Edit: I forgot to say, it would be anywhere from 1 USD to 5 USD. Nothing very expensive, don't worry.

I know. I'll email him if I ever need to.

I'd say $5 is rather expensive in this case.

I never said it would definitely be $5. I was just giving a vague estimate of what it could be.

I was thinking about this a few days ago. Well the server control part anyway.

And maybe make one that has ads for free and one that doesn't for like .99 cents or 1.99 maybe.

I've actually been working at Fedex this summer, and I've gained a TON of experience working with java in eclipse (the main development environment for Android apps.) I'm also thinking about doing the same thing but it'd be for free... Although, I'm only aiming to fit my own needs so I'm sure you can have features that make your App worth buying.

That's mainly the reason why I added the poll. I was curious as to whether people would want to buy something like this, or otherwise I would have set it up for free. So far the poll shows that people would be generous and pay for this app, but I still might make it for free mainly for the reason I don't really want to charge people to use this. But on the other hand, I need some money seeing as my family is in quite a bit of financial trouble at the moment, but I still don't like the idea of charging people for this.

This really wouldn't help with financial problems much... For a paid version you would probably get only around 30-50 downloads.

I'm fully aware of that but at the moment any money helps.
Edit:
Hmmm... Now when I look back on my previous post I probably shouldn't have even brought up my financial problems seeing as they aren't very relevant at all, and it's not a good reason to charge people for this application either. My apologies.

I would pay $10 if it included the server managment, and no ads. $100 for actual mobile Blockland.

I'm glad to hear you'd actually pay $10 for this application but I find that price very unreasonable, and $100 for an actual mobile Blockland extremely unreasonable. But you were probably exaggerating that part.

I would do 99 cents for this app, if only I could put money into my account.

What account? You buy things from the android market with credit/debit cards.

That's precisely what I mean. Sorry for saying account, I only recently switched over from iTunes.
