Author Topic: Kre-o is totally not lego.  (Read 6808 times)

Uhuh.
I really don't understand what you're saying.
Because they will still just use the stuff they already have.

Hasbro makes and owns many different toys, they don't need to make kre-o versions of them.

I think Tony means that they won't recreate all of their toy franchises in Kre-o, simply because they don't need to crossover all of their franchises.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Hasbro were to cross over a few of their best selling franchises with Kre-o, because that is logically a smart move, which is why they're starting off with Transformers with Kre-o, because Transformers is no doubt their most successful franchise at the moment, what with it having three hit movies in recent years.

But I personally wouldn't doubt that they'll do their own original sets, as Tony suggests they will.

Making sets of all their franchises would give them good money.
Which is the only reason they're doing it in the first place.
I don't think they particularly care about pleasing their customers.
If they did, they could certainly make the sets look a lot better.

I don't think they look unappealing, considering they're based off of Transformers, and are supposed to look like Lego, without looking like Lego.

And I wouldn't be so sure that they'll only do their own franchises.
Of course there is money in there, but that's not to stop them from designing their own new things with Kre-o.
Otherwise, Kre-o isn't even a franchise of it's own, it's just a style for making their other toys.

Unless you're expecting them to start releasing Star Wars Kre-o (Which would likely not be possible with Star Wars Lego existing), My Little Pony Kre-o and G.I Joe Kre-o

WHAT!?
Hasbro owns My Little Pony.

Apparantly Night Fox sees them remaking all their franchises in Kre-o, so get ready for lego compatible ponies.

I hope not, but Kre-o already confirmed they are making original sets after these transformers. Depending on how well sales go.

It's quite possible.

I mean, we're not used to it because Lego was pretty much an original product- back in the 90's and 80's, they didn't have a corporation behind them, they were just making cool little sets.

Of course, now lego has sold out and all of the sets cost 90 bucks for like, 50 bricks.

Isn't MegaBloks manufactured by Hasbro anyway?

Technically, My Little Pony Kre-o sets wouldn't be a bad decision for them.

They could easily market them at the female children's market and draw them into the brick building market.
And just because they can make My Little Pony Kre-o, does not mean they could only make My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Kre-o.

But yeah, marketing a part of it towards girls would work really well.
Because it would introduce them into the block building franchise, and this meeting with any new original sets, which if they're even slightly like old Lego sets, like original houses and parks and things, then it would work out very well for Hasbro.

No, it belongs to Mega Brands.

Actually it's females ages from 3-12+ and creepy males ages from 18-40+.

Nothing will ever be able to steal lego's thunder. And having pieces that are specialized to one specific set is just making it worse. the best part of legos was and always will be making your own things from scratch.

they even went as far as tacking an "o" on the end

stay classy, hasbr-oh forget I see what they did there
