Author Topic: I Need a Good Prebuilt  (Read 1125 times)

My CPU is an old, single core, 2.0 Ghz Athlon processor, I need a new processor for hopefully not much money.  I'd say less than 100 USD.

Also, my motherboard has Socket 939 for cpu.

Prebuilt because I'm lazy.

forget it all.  I'm going to get a whole new computer, take my graphics card out and put it in the new one.  Now, I need a good prebuilt that is preferably under 500.
Oh, and hopefully you noticed the bold.

Socket 939 is outdated.  Upgrading your CPU would bottleneck itself likely because everything else is old.

You should not post in any more computer help threads.  That provides no help on anything relevant in this thread other than "upgrade" and "cpu".

I need a new processor.

Yes. That's what he asked for, friend. It's a loving guideline. He can use it and compare the CPUs to his MOBO and see which will work for his target price.

You should stop being a loving handicap and stop acting like you know better.

Plus, most of the time in these threads, when they want to upgrade, they find out they need to upgrade something else to have that work. So excuse me for loving posting something that shows them everything they need to see, comprehensibly rather then a few random posts by people who don't really know what is going on.

that link does not help at all. i dont get why everyone is using it anyways. its outdated, and only shows like 1% of existing hardware.

Key words: Socket 939

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_939

Key words on wiki page:  Succeeded by AM2 socket.

AM2 is already outdated itself.  The sole fact that there are no AMD processors on both NewEgg and TigerDirect for Socket 939 simply means that it's outdated as stuff and his only chance to even get a really small upgrade is maybe ebay, even then it wouldn't be worth it at all.

If the whole point of your post was to "show them everything they need to see" then you did far less than that.  Seriously, just shut up.

that link does not help at all.

Yes it does. It shows pretty much the guidlines for pricing. So he wants a 100 dollar CPU? look down the list at the CPUs and lets just say he wants one for 69 dollars. He can then go to Newegg and see if it's compatable.

The list loving shows products that generally gives the most bang for your buck.

if you know anything about cpus you would know that 939 is dead and your link did not help. not even the slighest

KEY WORDS He will need to upgrade his god damn MOBO if he's going to be happy with the upgrade and shouldn't be wasting his time with stuff from ebay!!!!!!!!!

any computer that uses a 939, it would be cheaper to buy a new comp then to upgrade, as basically you would need to rebuild the entire thing anyways.

your link is gay. you poser

You are ignorant, you friend. I was saying from the loving beginning that he will want to upgrade most of the components in his computer.

Don't be mad because I knew this stuff would happen from post 1.

also ebay is just fine. you can get plenty of brand new items on it just as well. with factory warranties and paypal insurance as well.

learn to everything

That won't do stuff.  He'll likely have a power supply that won't even be able to power it, a CD drive using an outdated connector type, and a hard drive with an also outdated connector type.

Face it, you're handicapped as stuff and you throwing around pictures won't do anything.  Go back to talking about LEGO games or something.

that damn pic people are posting is outdated as stuff. parts no one would need anymore as better cheaper ones are compatible and available, at prices that arent even accurate anymore.
