Author Topic: Why does port forwarding do nothing with my Gmod server?  (Read 569 times)

Alright, before anyone asks, I CAN host at my mother's house, I did the exact same thing to host a gmod server there as I did here, only one difference, I cannot at my dad's house. It's weird because I can host other games.

Things I can host:
-Minecraft
-SS13
-Swat 4

Things I cannot host:
-Source games (Tf2, gmod...)
-Blockland

I port forwarded properly, (port 27015), and I THINK I am using the right IP. Not sure, but when I type in ipconfig in the command console, the IPv4 address is under the "Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 2" tab, and I do not know if that is correct or not. I don't know what I am doing wrong, or if I am doing anything wrong.

You THINK you're using the right IP or you ARE using the right IP?

90% of the time it doesn't work because people forwarded their ports but not to their correct IP, and 100% of the time statistics like these are made up.

Remember to set your static IP within the DHCP settings of your router or within the settings of your computer.

I'm pretty sure I am.

Already have static IP.

This is right, right?

Restart computer?

I don't think that will help, it's been on and off so many times. Hell, I'm in such a habit of turning it off sometimes I turn it off when I walk away for a glass of water, lol.
