Author Topic: hosting issues  (Read 509 times)

I'm having quite a bit of issues when hosting a server. There are a few choice people, like zap100, who can come and go with no problem. But then there are many many people who claim that my server isn't in the list, that the ping is unbelievably high, or that crash as soon as they start loading, or as soon as they spawn. And at seemingly random times, A pop up comes up saying
"'Blockland' requested to terminate in an unusual way." And the game freezes. I can't get a good server very often with more than 3 or so players without my game crashing for some reason, or everybody else crashing simultaneously.
I went through my add-ons and I'm pretty sure that I don't have any glitchy or corrupt ones. I don't lag all that much. I run the server with anywhere from 2-8 thousand bricks. I use a rather high number of add-ons, but not too many, and none of them are causing this to happen to my knowledge. So I have no idea why this is happening!
I have a windows 7 computer with 500 gigs of ram, and it's a pretty fast computer too, if that helps at all.

Download that Patch on the download page.

The amd dual core fix thing? I don't know what that is, and it says to only download it if I have the amd dual core thingamajig. lol
Is there a way to know if I have that or not?

That's a fix for Blockland running too fast. Don't listen to ScratchTehEPICSpaceDude his help replies are basically useless

Actually I called my dad, and he told me how to figure out if I have it or not, I apparently do have amd dual core processors, lol
I guess I'll dl the patch and see how bl works then

didn't work. So far at least. I downloaded it, and I wasn't sure if after it was installed it would start working or what. So I restarted my comp, then Bl. So far one person connected, and didn't talk at all. Then spawned, and left. then repeated that. Then someone else came on and said he wasn't loading. T_T

Gah noedit,
I've been trying to search/google a solution, and I see a lot of stuff about UPnP, port forwarding, connection types, which I really know nothing about any of these things, can someone give me a rly quick summary on any of these things if it may be related to my problem?

This usually means an add-on you have is crashing the clients..
At least that was what would happen to me sometimes.
