forget metal. Punk bands like Green Day (Not sure if they still are) are flawless. loving flawless.
Shut up about Green Day already...most metal bands (at least the metal I listen to) expresses a musicality and technically that is unmatched by any punk bands. Punk is basically simplistic music with rebellious lyrics and rather catchy, annoying singing.
I'm more into metal-core type stuff. Stuff with awesome screaming, impressive technical playing, and a catchy epic melodic chorus.
Death metal is too far for me...there's nothing there to enjoy...I draw the line when it doesn't sound like music. That's my opinion, respond how you will, but to summarize: I like metal that sounds good to me personally.
