So a few days ago, some software issue ruined my internet browser so I could not connect to the internet. I called HP and they asked if I had a software prescription, or something. I said no. They said they couldnt even tell me what was wrong unless I paid 170$ for one. My dad got so mad he threw to phone at the ground with enough force to scar the Earth, he just broke the phone. I realized I could do system restore and I did. It worked. No 175$. Discuss this crime HP tried to commit. 589$ computer + 175$ some other stuff.

I swear by the brand Compaq, I think they are a division of HP.

They are well designed, very affordable, and if you look around you can find very impressive specs in their laptops for the money. They are sturdy and well built.

Compaq/HP/Acer are the best prebuilt brands.
Never, ever, ever buy a Dell.

I've owned and Acer and so did my brother, they both broke very quickly. :/

I'd probably avoid them too. I like Compaq, Apple, and Asus of course.

Eh, they made a recent come back and their computers are still questionable in my opinion. From what I've seen, they have been aiming at a general user, sacrificing good spec for price. Depends what computer you got from them I guess.

It's an extremely simple problem. Not something you'd call up the company about. That's why you're paying so much. It'd be worthless to fix that, so they think there must be other problems you're not saying. Ups the price.

I had problems with toshiba.
They're good i guess. I rather stick with ASUS or compaq though.
