Yeah well, it's cheaper than the 6990 and the 6970 is a minor verision, plus it's not too bad for its price

How much does 1 cost?

One card is £140 so it's £280 then 280x1.63=$456.4

And one is £140x1.63=$228.2

Can your computer's motherboard support it.

Well.
It's a crossfire ready bored, P8P67, 2 16x lane slots nad i might remove the GT 430 for two 6870's if they can run BRAND new games, as the season of 2011 PC gaming is gonna be big.

Having a good GFX card doesn't work if you have a crap CPU/RAM. My old custom built computer I had my 2 9800GT's except the CPU was ass and it really didn't make a huge difference, when I got my new CPU my GFX cards now work at their full potential. Don't get me wrong having a good GFX card will help but the majority of games use your CPU then GFX cards.

The only game where it lags is GTA IV and that's because it's not optimized for the computer. I can run it on medium to high but not full.

I got the same processor but it's the unlocked version. I also have 8gb of RAM.

GTA IV is relies on Graphics card Memory, I have 2GB's meaning I can play it really smoothly.

Sounds good, although i5's a bit out of date now though still good.

I have 2gb...It's the way the game has been ported.

Just to clarify it's not fps loss. It's not lag. It's every 5 seconds stuttering. I could tune my GPUs to fix it I suppose.

Just go more in-depth for that, its not because its not optimized for the computer its not optimized for your computers build, IE hardware. As a game developer its incredibly hard to make your games work well on every type of setup.

As long as your power supply can handle it, go for it.

The forget? The Sandy Bridge i5 is brand new.

Wasn't aware of the Sandy Bridge I was only referring to the ones made over the past couple of years.
