I used to watch this all the time. I was really sad when they stopped showing it.
Read my mind :(
I'm going to make an antweight bot from a kit for Combot in San Fransisco. Google Combot, first result.

If I made up one it would have treads and a jackhammer on the bottom.

Why? Because that's cool.

Either that or have one that flings a sawblade everywhere.

I'm making a lightweight thwackbot that uses wheelchair motors.

It's gonna be invertible, and I'm gonna gear it so the wheels spin faster.

I mean seriously, you don't need to push 400 pounds of metal when you're a lightweight.

It'll be able to push two hundred pounds and be twice as fast by the time I'm done with it.

heh.

Hook up a large propane tank and covor the stuff out of it in metal plating and have flamethrowers.

That's illegal in most robot competitions.

Should I use a sledgehammer or spikes, or a combination of both?

How come?
A rocket propelled grenade would be against the rules.

I read something on battlebots about flame weapons being banned.

Combination of both and a flamethrower.

Combination of both and a flamethrower.
HNNNG.

This is a lightweight, no flamethrowers.

But yeah, I'm thinking a combination would work.

It would get good momentum up and then punch a hole in their armor.

CALLED??!?!?!?!?!?!?

I don't remember. Its called robot...something...go and watch SC for awhile and catch it.

Why no flamethrowers? Flamethrowers make everything better.

They're also majorly ineffective unless the robots are made of plastic.
