I've got to add more to this.

So many people interpret the Bible in a wide variety of ways which results in a bunch of ignorant things passed down all over the place. Even in the Bible people misinterpret the Bible (obviously it wasn't the whole Bible at the time).

Sadly, this makes it so rational Christians have no legs to stand on.

yeah thats the point. churches pick and choose what they want.
you say why dont you kill people for being gay and love before marriage? well a christian will answer something like "because thats the old testament"
yet in churches they teach the little kids tons and tons of the old T bible stories.

according to the church, the catholic church was founded by Jesus at the Confession of Peter

whether or not you want to believe that is up to you, but solid historical evidence says that the church existed at least by 50 AD


Catholicism was the first christian church, the breakoff of other denominations DID occur around 700 years ago
