when you join a server and if you don't have that mod, you start downloading the necesary files for it, but the downside to this is that you can't use those mods for your own server. which is y this gives a advantage for beta servers. now, if you make or downlad a mod and the other persone dosn't have it, they download the mod from your computer and are able to use it but again, not on there servers.
Music is a diffrent story because people like to put large files of music on there computers. idk if the music files are the same as the mods of if you downlad it from a server you can use it as well. You don't have to worry about this because the defalt is set for "downlad music - Off".
