Author Topic: Tips to being a Good Forum Member!  (Read 1199 times)

The Introduction

Hello, I thought it would be a good idea to post something like this for the newer members of the Blockland Forums. This is just to teach you what not to do in certain topics and how to react to responses and other things in that manner. By the way these are in no specific order, if you don't like it than just ignore it, nothing is forcing you to post here.

The Tips

Just for future reference, read these slowly and over check anything you might have missed.

1: Make sure to use the best grammar and spelling in your sentences.

2: Always double check what you're about to post. It doesn't matter if its just to check for grammar mistakes, or just saying something downright stupid you'll regret later.

3: Don't spam emotes, pictures, words, ect. It's looked down upon by most people and just makes you look stupid.

4: If your being trolled by someone, just try to keep your head cool and ignore that person, seeing as how he/she is just trying to get you mad for laughs.

5: Read over the forum's rules to avoid predicaments in the future every so often.

6: Research something before you blatantly argue about something you know nothing about, thus causing more problems for others.

7: Respect is always good, just make sure not to lose any in the process.

8: Don't troll people, it always results badly in the end for you.

9: Don't stuffpost in topics, you'll just get banned.

10: Make sure to post your topic in the right sections.

11: QFT - Quote for truth, tl;dr - Too long didn't read

The Conclusion

These are just some of things I know to the best of my knowledge. Please let me know if there is anything else that should be added as I'm sure I've missed some things. I'll be sure to edit the OP for it.

i agree with 10/11 of these

i agree with 10/11 of these

I don't think having the best grammar is needed, but a decent level is nice.

Tl;dr: Use common sense.

I'm a naughty forumer.

Good. We have been needing a decent user-made post like this for a bit of time.

This is rubbish and it won't do anything to change the way people behave.

The second tip is what I learned using trial-and-error.

I have learned a lot using it.

Nothing I can really disagree with, as it's common sense for the most part.
Though it's kinda funny how OP has less than two posts a day, yet suddenly needs to tell us how to act.
