Author Topic: Parents and technology.  (Read 2190 times)

Discuss parents and your silly stories of how they don't know how to use technology.
If they do, of course, then give a silly story of someone else.

My dad says I have viruses on my computer because I have too many icons on my desktop.

Or: Don't let any of your relatives get any inkling of an idea that you know how to use computers.

My dad says port forwarding will leave me open to hacking. He says it's like putting a ladder up to a second story building on the front of a house, people are less inclined to do it because they'll get caught, but it's possible.

IMO it's a damaged rope that is climbable by only an expert rope climber, leading to the 50th story of an abandoned warehouse that nobody wants to be in.

>Bored, so I click like 50 times in a fast succession on the desktop.
>"YOU ARE GOING TO BREAK IT STOP!"

My dad writes software for a living, lol.

...like putting a ladder up to a second story building on the front of a house...

...leading to the 50th story of an abandoned warehouse
er what

It's nothing like either of those.

At all.

If hacking could be done via port forwarding it wouldn't be allowed by routers to begin with.

-me messing with the router-

Parents: do you know what you're doing?
Me: Yes
Parents: ok

Parents: do you know what you're doing?
Me: Not too sure
Parents: ok

It's nothing like either of those.

At all.

And for goodness sake who wants to loving hack blockland
