Why am I only hearing about this China stuff today? lol...

china loving sucks because it's warped everyone's view of communism. every handicapped conservative out there thinks china communism is real communism and debates based on that.

Communism is a failed ideology. All of the countries that have attempted communism have gotten to the socialism stage and have then gone to stuff. The powers of the economic elite are transferred to a party which usually ends up being dominated by a dictator.

They have to divert resources to a military and securing civil unrest instead of using the resources for a better cause likes its people. The party members soak up huge funds meant for other projects and the country has to spend massive amounts of money keeping capitalist influences at bay and also cuts off trade with capitalist countries.

Communism tries to create a utopia but what it fails to do is realize that technology and the use of this technology to create abundance creates a higher standard of living. Instead it still operates under monetary standards only favoring the working class and having the state control virtually all assets.

There was a thread about the debt ceiling and if it wasn't fixed that USA would fall and China would take over as the world's leading economy.

lol, it's not like brazil would attack america anyway, brazilians actually come to america to shop because stuff's cheap here.

If left unchecked, in a few decades Brazil could easily build a navy (like 50 years or so), extend their dominance across the southern Atlantic. Also, Brazil's exports are very diverse with only roughly 20% going to the U.S. The rest goes to all across the world.

in that time the USA could do the same

Do you mean the one by mattnet1?

Thar, I am proud.

Really, it's sad to remember the day when millions of people were killed in Japan because of kamikaze attacks of Pearl Harbor. Not to offend anyone, but the US was not a force to be reckoned with and Japan should have surrendered instead of being selfish and letting all those people die.

Japan had a good odds of fighting the US before Pearl Harbor, but they didn't count on the extreme wave of patriotism that went over the US and sent its war machine into maximum overdrive. Like seriously, 90% of the ordnance created by the US in WWII was created during the actual war.

I wonder how it'd play out if something similar happened now. :o

Quality topic here, folks.

For srs.

Idk who it was by but probably.

I thought of this PM article when I read through the topic.

Definitely not the same thing. People already refuse to work factory jobs as is, working overtime to support the war-effort and propaganda promoting it would be met with resistance by the intellectual community, and since everybody these days considers themselves an intellectual, nobody would do stuff.

Yes, but if the U.S. starts running around shooting at everything it sees that won't go ever well with anyone.

I've heard of people refer to the United States as the Unintended Empire, mostly because we didn't mean to get the power we have today. In fact, the founding fathers warned against it.

That being said, if we want to keep Brazil at bay Argentina should be strengthened to help counteract them since no other nation really has the capability to do so.

-snip-
i meant in the way of strengthening their army, not necessarily shooting everything
