Author Topic: AMD vs NVIDIA  (Read 1545 times)

My old NVidia had updating problems. When I updated my FPS would drop to 2-3 FPS after using graphics intensive programs. Even after downgrading my updates to the one I had before hand, it still was forgeted up. So I ended up getting a new computer with AMD in it. :cookieMonster:

Radeon HD 4670 :P
The HD46xx range is seriously underrated.
I have a 4650 lying around, and it's capable of many good things. I can even run Crysis on max detail with about 30fps on it.

My 4850 can run Crysis pretty much maxed out.
But I'm getting a 6870 soon.
U jelly?

JUST SLIGHTLY BETTER THAN MINE

GRRRRRRRR

I'm getting a SAPPHIRE 100316L Radeon HD 6790 as an upgrade for an old computer c:

My nvidia has a huge ass fan

I used to have an old geforce fx 5200, got a x1650, then got new computer, got a EAH4850 and it's getting older so i'm going to upgrade to a EAH6870

I'd personally say ati because they don't get as hot, they're not as expensive and don't suck up your psu juice as much. I go with AMD processors too.

I have a GT 430, i'm upgrading to 4870 but i'm considering to nail an extra £100 for another one for xfire.

my GT 430 has a loving huge fan and my PC hasnt been even warm for 1 month with 50% of the entire month it being on.
It's a loving amazing cooler.

I said I have a 4650 lying around, I never said it was my main card, which is better than yours by quite a bit. Even better than your one you're getting soon.
YOU jelly?

The HD 6800's are pretty much the same as the HD 5770, almost completely the same, in fact.
You don't get any real performance difference until you start shelling out like $300 on the HD 6900 series.
And then the HD 5770 isn't much better than the top-end card from the HD 4xxx series, but they don't sell those new anymore :c

The 5000 series was such a jump up from the 4000 series, I guess because of DX11.
Yes, a 5850 is equal to a 6870 pretty much.

"No driver"
i see what you did there.
well actually, you don't
because there's no driver there
so you don't see what he did there because there's nothing to see

I never accused it of being your main card.
and I'm not really jelly. A 6870 should do good for a couple more years.
