Artists Wanted!
Hello there, Blockland, I'm currently working on writing a comic book series thing. Anyway, the problem is, I can't do the art, one because I have virtually no means to do so, and two, because I'm stuff at it. I have however noticed that many of the Blockland forum members are quite talented artistically. So, I am attempting to enlist THREE artists, who will rotate and each do one issue, then the next person does the next, and so on.
Plot:
--The story takes place 60 or 70 years in the future--
Essentially, the main character is a man by the name of Liam Fletcher. Twenty years ago, when he was eleven, he was best friends with a boy named Eric Turner. During the summer, Eric went on an overseas trip, and their plane crashed at some facility that wasn't supposed to exist. Authorities never found the plane. Now, at the age of 31, Liam works as a detective for the Ambros City P.D. His current case involves a serial killer who appears out of nowhere, and seemingly cuts people in half, leaving only one half at a time. The only sighting of this killer is seemingly fantasy, reported as a hideously tall, out of proportion, almost insect-like "Man." Little does Liam know, it's actually Eric. When he crashed on the facility, which was some form of dimensional testing facility, Eric was pulled into another dimension. For 40 years, Since time passes slower in that dimension, he lived alone. Eventually, he became able to pop in and out of the other dimension, for short periods of time. What he was trying to do was take somebody through with him, to ease his loneliness. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep the portal open for long enough to pull the entire person through, and when it closed, it closed with somebody half through the portal. So, Eric kept trying, and eventually, his next "victim," was going to be Liam, but, even after the 40 years, Eric recognized him. Eric kept bouncing back and forth, explaining his story to Liam 30 seconds at a time. Then, of course, Liam and Eric make a pact to find out what happened to Eric, and to attempt to save him from the fate. Of course, there's going to be lots of espionage and conspiracy theories and such, I just don't want to give away the plot because some of the BLF'ers are potential readers <3
Application:
To apply, simply redraw, preferably digitally, the attached file at the bottom of the page. Embellish as much as possible, but still keep the basic feel. Oh, and outline the head. I wasn't sure how to do it. :I
(By the way, this is Eric's face after having come through the portal. And yes he's always got that creepy smile, keep it in your application.
The top three artists will be chosen, by me, and please, do not post an application if you are not ready to actually do this. I'm very serious about making this series.
