So I was intrigued by this idea of online currency and wanted some so I downloaded the bitcoin.exe and GUIMiner. I registered for a pool that has no taxes and now im mining using my GeForce GT 430 at about 9.5 Mhash/s.

Now I know some of you here use bit coin miners so is that a good rate?

i heard that the mining difficulty or w/e was pretty high so it's pointless because you're losing more than you're making

That is terrible, as expected from an nvidia card. If you want to mine you need an ati card.

That is partially a rumor. people are telling new comers that it is pointless to mine because they want the difficulty to stay down so they can get all the coins for themselves. haha

but either way, they've been pretty low (comparing to their peak of 30) since that one incident

You're best of building a computer just to mine. After all, you not going to get much off that.
