Author Topic: Earth to reach 7 billion is population  (Read 3639 times)

Our resources and technology are sufficient. The only problem is the social systems we have in place to manage the resources/technology.

Fair point, implementation is the issue.

If you think money is going to stop people from having a jolly time... You're wrong, lol. Haha just joking, you are partly right.

This is probably what needs to be done, fine parents for additional children after the first.

Unless you live in developing countries that is. Which only have 80% of the world's population. In other words OP's prediction is wrong.

Eventually developing countries will stabilize or implode.

Not if they stay on their current tracks.

Not if they stay on their current tracks.

They're called developing for a reason, because they're in a state of (albeit slow) progress towards development.

Guy with the chart does make a good point and it is a fair possibility. But I still think the world's population will stabilize. Trends show that even their populations are starting to decline from and average of roughly 7-8 children to roughly 5-6.

Industrialized nations are declining to below 2.3 which I do believe (correct me if I'm wrong) is the minimum of sustaining a population.

I saw this a few months ago in National Geographic. Apparently fertility rates are higher in areas where education is poorer.

Certainly I don't think that it's likely we'll see population stability any time soon, unfortunately, but it's inevitable as the earth becomes literally unable to sustain human life.

Not exactly hard math. 2 parents > 2 children.

/population problem

i dont think you get it either

this is what I'm refrencing to

The Population Police enforce the government's Population Law, killing or imprisoning "shadow children," any third child in a family.

Well, we'll be able to make.. City's over water maybe.. and move people there to space stuff out, OR, We all get transported to the moon as earth dies in Nuclear Warfare or gets over populated, but if that fails, Execution.

Yea it probably won't happen within a few months but within, a few decades?

also, you failed to take into account mortality into your math.

but if that fails, Execution.
You'll be all for that until you're the one getting killed.

I heard somewhere that they're making floating houses. :S
