Author Topic: Authentication Failures?  (Read 950 times)

just to remind myself, is there any reason besides someone connecting on the same key on a different server that could cause an authentication failure? i was playing just fine a few days ago and then it all started, i kept getting authentication failures. i've had about 2 today. if there's no other cause, i'm confused, because i haven't given out my key to anyone, nor would i ever. however, right before it started, i was playing at my friend's house on my laptop, and i'm not sure if that could have anything to do with it.. please help?

also i wasn't sure whether this would belong in the help section, please bear with me if it was supposed to be there.

Actually, Badspot revokes key's if he notice it is being used by different IP Addresses but to happening that you must rapidly change the IP's if this only happens once then your Key shouldn't be revoked in any way. I think it must be the Internet, or you should contact Badspot about this, if the problem is still happening.

Just to know: Im not an Expert in Authentication Failures etc. I just know what i know.

I'm getting Authentication errors too and my laptop is the only  computer i use.

It's best to PM Badspot about it.

When I was getting auth errors, I PM'd him talking about it and asked if anyone else was using my key.

He responded with an IP and a location that was recently accessing the key, and assumed it wasn't me. He deactivated it and asked me for an e-mail I'd want him to send a new key to.

Of course, another problem could be network issues.

i only used it on my computer at my friend's.

alright, i might try that.. i sure hope that's not the issue, but if it is, nothing i can change.

I've been having authentication issues with RTB all day.

Mine JUST fixed itself. I can go online again now.

Get a new computer, Maybe your computer is too screwed up, :D  :cookieMonster:

I haven't got one since like 2007. In 2007-08 it happened a lot actually to me

The servers were down for a bit before, maybe that was it?

My server crashed earlier and some of the other servers I go to are on and off all day.
