People who were abused as children grew up to be amazing, successful and kindhearted people. Then you have an starfish who killed a bunch of children because mommy was a drug addict. Do you support killing a bunch of children? Because it sounds like you're okay with child serial killers being free.

killing anyone is bad, but it's also something you can't take back. instead of being hypocrites and killing the killer, turn him into someone who will contribute something to society.
and some people just aren't mentally equipped to deal with that. just because you think you would be doesn't mean others can too.

Convicted murderers should be executed.
Rapists should be given the choice between life in prison or the death sentence, and then given the opposite of what they chose.

Not all American's are as reasonably minded as you are. People are going to get pissed, and they're going to cause problems.

I'll accept the whole rehabilitation deal if the rehabilitated stay in prison, and have their rehabilitation paid for by family members.

how will the rehabilitated contribute something to society in prison? i'd accept shortening their sentence in lieu of just flat out releasing them when they're clean

No there should not be a death sentence.

On the topic of the justice system, the only way I see any police force really cleaning up the streets a bit is to really crack down on the laws in certain areas, areas decided by average income and/or crime rates. In such areas police should be given much more freedom in terms of searches and investigations.

They were productive to begin with, and then they forgeted up their lives. That's their fault. Now lets let them live with it, and move on with our own lives.

In all seriousness, I think convicted murderers should be executed. The punishment for killing is death.
Everyone else should be rehabilitated. The life sentence just seems loving pointless.

If you tell yourself "In spite of my abusive mother, I can make something out of my life, and I can be successful, and not end up in jail, regardless of the hardships I face." Then that will happen.
