Instead of wasting money on prison rehabilitation, we should use that money for funding education for all.

That way, there would be more "productive members of society" and less criminals due to more children having the skills necessary to find a good clean job later on.

norway rehabilitates people, and they have low crime rates and a third of the rate of repeat offenders we do, so it is shown to work

ideally, employers wouldn't discriminate against a rehabilitated murderer because he's clean now. and having no friends is still better than dying

They were productive to begin with, and then they forgeted up their lives. That's their fault. Now lets let them live with it, and move on with our own lives.

I'm not getting my taxes risen just because we have to rehabilitate prisoners. Let them rot, and let the victim's supporters enjoy a feeling of justice.

If someone killed a loved one of mine, I would want the murderer's head on a pike. Likewise, if a friend of mine killed someone, they would be dead to me. People have family and friends that will be affected by them dying. The murderer isn't just ending one life, they are making several more miserable, both on their side and on the victim's. They don't deserve to live.

As for the "we could make him a functioning member of society!" argument, that's just stupid. In order to be a murderer you had to have taken at least one life, and odds are the victim was already "contributing to society". If you're going to kill members of society, you shouldn't be allowed to live in one.
