let me explain how a firearm works:
when you pull the trigger, that motion is transferred to a mechanism which hits the primer in a bullet (or rim in 22 or cheaper cartridges). the primer (or rim) sparks, igniting the gunpowder and sending the bullet through the barrel. in most guns manufactured today, some of the energy from the explosion is used to move the slide back for a fraction of a second, allowing the spring in the magazine to push another bullet into the chamber. however, you do not need a slide or magazine for a gun to function properly. you can make guns that have one (or more) chambers that you have to manually load the bullet into. these are often called zip guns. it's entirely possible to make a fully working semi-auto or even auto, however.

hollow out the barrel to the proper dimensions, buy or carve a stock, add a lever to the bottom and a button or lever to release it, add a trigger and you're good to go.

i was using it as an example of how making guns illegal won't stop people who want to use them for criminal purposes from manufacturing them. might as well keep guns legal so they can be used for self defense against criminals. just keep the background check requirement

Hold on, just because I didn't catch this handicapation when it was going on doesn't mean it shouldn't be addressed, and I doubt anyone brought it up before me: Having the poll option "only for certain laws" on the last poll is stupid. It implies that by not voting that and voting yes, that more or less means the death penalty can be used against criminals who break any law. The death penalty is already only for "some laws".

Everyone deserves the chance to legally buy automatic firearms with approval and a rigorous examination of there criminal record, not just because they have been given the right. In the USA, It was put forward for civil protection from something I like to call 'THE BRITISH ARE COMING, THE BRITISH ARE COMING!'. Nowadays we are allied and too small to pose too much of a threat. It should be more like 'THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING, THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!' or even 'THE CHINESE ARE COMING, THE CHINESE ARE COMING!' as they are the biggest Communist governed country that still exists due to the break up of the USSR during 1991. This civil right is no longer necessary as the police and military would be more suitable than red necks and civilians waving around weaponry. Maybe out of date weaponry such as the M16 and the M1911 would be suitable as they are old.

Here in new hampshire, it's legal to bear arms and everyone open carries and just about everyone has a gun in their house for protection. Because of that, the crime rate is really loving low because criminal scum aren't risking being shot or killed lol most of the crime is in the cities(Manchesterlol).
