While life something is indeed to be cherished, I personally don't consider it much of a life if the being can't do anything for itself or even has a conscious thought pattern. I wouldn't really consider it a life.

Seriously though, orphans pretty much don't have love. Why would you go send them to a battlefield where they will face their deaths? I think orphans should grow up and choose whatever they want to be, because they do have the freedom to choose.

If I was an unwanted accident child I would be happy to go to war and make something out of my life, and die doing something that I love and has any purpose at all.
