Satanism is usually a misnomer. "Satanic" group mostly consist of angsty teens and or young adults that want to "stick it to the man" by "worshipping" Satan, a symbolic figure of rebellion and deviation. Essentially they are just aggressive, rebellious Atheists.

There are cults, however, that worship an "Overlord of Evil", though.
