Giving out tickets for not wearing a seat belt is not for the safety of the people, but it is primarily for the money.
How much money honestly do you think the government makes a year from seatbelt tickets?

I suppose they enforce littering laws to make money as-well?

Couldn't you just cut the buckle from the rope, and click it in?
Yes, actually you could.
But im not THAT passionate about not wearing a seatbelt. Ill wear one if its required to drive.

It all adds up with the other laws they pass

The primary function of government is to regulate interstate commerce. Make policy for the advancement of our society. NOT to infringe on our right to personal choice, so long as it is not in contradiction to the moral fabric that was instilled in mankind.

Or just maybe, just maybe, it's to encourage people to wear their loving seat belts?
I mean, alternatively they could take away your license for a few weeks every time you're caught without your seat belt on.

You're stupid. I'm sorry, but the government may be screwed up, but laws like that are to better society, to protect people from being stupid.

Well my friends mom takes me everywhere and shes always drunk
i prefer my seatbelt on no matter what law there is

When was it the governments responsibility to be a Big Brother?  When did they care about me, why should they?

Too protect people from being stupid?  When was that generating money, I care for myself, my liberties are being restricted, and that is it.  I understand what you are trying to say, I honestly do, I care for people and my well-being, but this could lead to many other restrictions.  Listen, I'm Conservative, and from experience and observation, you attack fiercely because we all have different ideologies.

People who don't wear them on purpose are stupid.

It's the governments responsibility to protect the people. The law protects the people by increasing your chances of survival should you be in an accident dramatically.

To some extent, it is there responsibility, but this is going beyond their boundaries.

Clothes protect you, sometimes they're uncomfortable, and the government enforces having clothes
just sayin'

Your only defense is to relate.  These statements only should be placed after an answer to the problem.

I say we should properly educate the people on why we wear seat belts, not hide it from them and let them continue acting like ignorant imbeciles following it because 'its the law'

Not to sound mean or anything, but if people don't want to be safe, then it would be better to remove them from the genepool for a better future.. Though I can see why the government wants to protect the general population.

Just my opinion.

So you'd rather have me restate what has been said again?
