Author Topic: Logic/'Electricity' Builds  (Read 1555 times)

i know some of these have already probably been done, but i'm posting them anyways.

Computers using Projectiles/Relays
Including ALUs, CPUs, maybe even some sort of 1x1 print screen with a GPU.
It'd probably not be worth it or maybe not possible, not sure. I'm tired right now, it just seems like an interesting concept.

They obviously wouldn't be powerful, and not at all very useful for anything, but they'd be really neat if possible.

I have seen Halcynthis make a sort of Paint program using somewhat complex logic relays, but it was pretty dodgy.

Memory
Somewhat like the above. Memory using projectiles or relays. May not be possible, just a neat concept.

Calculators
I've yet to see a well-working calculator on Blockland. I'm sure it's possible.

Transformer sort of thing.
"Transformer" may not be the word I'm looking for, basically what I mean is a contraption that allows you to play a wide variety of sounds using relays or projectiles. It's been done before, but only in simple ways.

Random Number Generator
Seen it done a few times, but again, in simple ways.

the above are ideas, i just think it'd be interesting to see these done, looking back, i've seen some pretty complex arcade games using only projectiles.

i got to thinking what we could do with even more complex networks of similar things, maybe make a computer that isn't simple as duplicating a plate into a slot and having the computer run off that.

I'm tired, I may not even remember making this thread in the morning.

Would these be possible, and if so, who would participate in making some of them?

Calculator was made by Big Brother

A computer within a game within a computer?

Calculator was made by Big Brother
of course big brother did, but was it with VCE?

these ideas are meant to be made without VCE, the concept is making them with projectiles or relays

Within a computer.

Within a computer.
You run your computer on a computer?

You run your computer on a computer?
YO DAWG I HEARD YOU LIKED COMPUTERS SO WE PUT THIS COMPUTER IN YOUR COMPUTER SO YOU CAN USE YOUR COMPUTER WHILE YOUR USING YOUR COMPUTER.

> Launch a virtual machine in VirtualBox
> Install virtual box inside the virtual machine
> repeat x 100
> install blockland
> build a computer in Blockland
> run virtual box on the blockland computer
> head explode

Compception.

OnTopic: I've made a calculator on BL before, but it just did adding, and subtracting sadly.

Neat.

I think I may start making some stuff like this on my server.

started working on a calculator.

so far it has multiplication and addition.

it can only have 1 - 6 at this point, and you can only multiply by numbers 2 - 10

Looks nerdly.
lol

right now i'm trying to figure out how to do subtraction

it's really confusing because of how it's set up completely with relays and projectiles

first computer all over again

Truce made a paint program using default events with a save and load feature.

I forget exactly how he did it but I remember each brick having various toggles on it, and when the color changed it set certain toggles, to save and load you would load up the bricks by placing the print bricks under the paint pad, and it would relate certain numbers to colors.
