Getting a new laptop

So I'm probably going to get a new laptop within the next few weeks and I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions for good free antivirus software and a good search engine. I'll update with more information about the laptop I'll probably get.

I use Avast! Free antivirus and I'm doing alright. Of course, I don't go to handicapped websites anyways so that doesn't really say much.

Google is the best search engine, period
both Bing and Yahoo suck, and all the rest of the dumbass minor search engines are even worse, especially considering they rarely even give you results that have anything to deal with what you searched
