Closed Captioning is Subtitles.
Even on DVD's it lists them as English Subtitles and English Subtitles for the hearing impaired.
The only difference being that the one for hearing impaired simply adds things like "<Shouting>" "<Door Creaking sounds>".
But other than to know that Cubelands learnt English through Closed Captions, which is not a very good way to learn English at all, this topic is pointless.
I recommend that Cubelands tries to find some form of English lessons.
It may be difficult for a deaf person, but if he's only trying to read and write English, then he doesn't need to worry about sounds.
There must be some place where you can go for lessons where you read English, and a translator helps you learn it through sign language.
