Does anyone know of a good gaming laptop under $1000?

I'm not familiar with the brands, but I want to know if there's any with good graphics and speed that at least let me play TF2 and HL2 smoothly.

I've heard that Nvidia GEForce is pretty good, but I don't know how much that "ups" the cost.

Any suggestions?

You will be able to run both TF2, HL2, pretty much all Source games on the highest.

I suggest a cooling pad too, however.

I think I saw a gaming laptop before for 700 dollars...but that probably doesn't help.

Well that laptop is actually $999.99, not really $700...  There are decent ones at $600-800 however.

Cool! That looks pretty good.

I'll probably add that to my list of win in my head, but Is there any laptops like that under $999.99?

I just want to know :P

Anyways, thanks guys!

The same thing except only 6GB of RAM instead of 8.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A665, its pretty impressive though its around the 1ks...

50$ less.. doesn't make too much sense.
Its 2GB of RAM, the manufacturers like to do that.  2GB of RAM is worth maybe $30 at most if you're buying it at a high speed.

I've got a Satellite C655D. Pretty good for $350. 3Gb of RAM, 320Gb Hard Drive, The only problem is the 1.00GHz.

All those specs are bad, even the hdd space is low.

It's not like I host Dedicated Servers from it or anything... Yes I do....

Because I have  Dell Latitude D620 right now...

And for some reason it seemed to adjust to gaming, although if it views too much detail at one time, it lags like crap.

The AlienWare M11X!

They recently lowered the price from 900$ to 700$!

The three AlienWare laptops

If you're getting a laptop I'd suggest one of these (though they are expensive), and get them from Dell since they're the most trustable I've seen with laptops.

There is no way a Dell Latitude laptop will EVER, EVER, EVER play 3D games decently.  Maybe incredibly basic 3D, but nothing fancy.

I own a D610, a D620 is like a small little boost.  The entire Latitude family is generally useless for gaming and it sucks at it no matter what.
