Author Topic: Solar Storm : updates - Storm is subsiding but could flare again!  (Read 18687 times)

As predicted by brown townysts at the GSFC Space Weather Lab, the first of three CMEs produced by the recent spate of flare activity reached Earth during the late hours of August 4th. The impact was weak and is not expected to produce strong geomagnetic storms. Two more CMEs are still on the way and, as described below, they may have merged into a single cloud that could produce significant storming when they reach Earth on August 5th at 10:00 UT (plus or minus 7 hours).

GET THIS : 3 solar flares each one on a scale of 7/9. Most solar flares are 1 or 2/9. If all 3 solar flares conjoined together inwhich all 3 are carrying UV rays. It will cause some problems.

UPDATES:

This is apparently not over. Northern Lights are being reported in Germany, Europe and a couple other countries.

SUBSIDING STORM: Earth's magnetic field is still reverberating from a CME strike on August 5th that sparked one of the strongest geomagnetic storms in years. Registering 8 on the 0 to 9 "K-index" scale of magnetic disturbances, the storm at maximum sparked auroras across Europe and in many northern-tier US states.
Travis Novitsky sends this picture from Grand Portage, Minnesota:

"For an hour and a half the sky was filled with dancing lights, some of the best I've ever seen in Northern Minnesota!" says Novitsky.

The storm is subsiding now, but it could flare up again as gusty solar wind continues to buffet Earth's magnetic field. High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras.

It is a 50/50 chance that the impact of the Solar Flares will mess up Earths gravity.
I'LL FINALLY BE ABLE TO LOSE WEIGHT

wondering why i havent heard anything about this on twitter
i kind of follow the people that would discuss this

Waiting for someone to disprove this...

I have to call bullstuff though, I have heard nothing about this until now, and if it's a "Stay inside" thing it would be all over the place.

Also thats 12:00pm EST (Fyi)

Something tells me this is blown out of proportion, even if the "mess up" isn't actually significant.

I bet everything will be okay.

Well we will see in 30-something minutes

I call bullstuff.

OP USES BULLstuff

IT'S SUPER not EFFECTIVE!

How does a solar flare change earths gravity?

That doesn't even make logical sense, gravity is based off of earths mass, and unless this takes a huge chunk of the earths mass and just disintegrates it we won't have any problems with gravity, but even if that did happen, we'd have more to worry about then gravity.

Impact of it. I do not know, I just posted what they were saying. So I am not the one doing bullstuff, they are.

To me it seems like it'll get a little bit hotter and we'll all get a tiny bit of radiation in our systems to accompany the other.

Also, I am not saying the world will end. Just the fact that we should be prepared for anything like this just in case.
