Yeah, and only TF2 works. Tf2's server browser works completely fine.

Have you port forwarded the correct ports?
My router has never blocked any games on my mac, and I completely disabled firewall and tested it and it didn't work.

I have no loving clue what's causing it.

Sometimes antivirus messes with firewall settings. If you have it, check to see if your program is driving the firewall system, and edit it through the antivirus program.

that's possible! I'm using Avast, do you know how I can do this?

I'm afraid I don't, sorry. I'm sure a quick google search will help.

I can't loving find anything in the settings.

god damnit why is it that only TF2 works? That doesn't even make sense. maybe it's because the executable for all steam games is the same (hl2.exe) in which case, how do I fix this? Disabling firewall didn't even fix it, and my router isn't blocking anything. wtf lol.

Completely close Avast, then try.
Or turn off all of it's functions, one of them is probably blocking you

Usually you just right click the taskbar icon :l.

I turned off each key component one by one and tested it and nothing worked.

wtf lol.

I'm going to get rid of the exception for both tf2 and counterstrike source, and see if starting CS:S with neither exceptions will do something.

CS:S still doesn't work and TF2 works just as well.

also I am unable to connect to servers on minecraft.

what the forget is wrong with this?

Must be your computer, maybe you installed the networking drivers wrong or something
